Metallic & Magenta Fur (NYFW four)

It seems like metallic is here to stay for next Fall/Winter season as it was all over the runways during NYFW. I'm glad about that since I adore the trend (hence, this skirt :)

Being Asian American myself, I am proud that more and more Asian fashion designers are making it into mainstream fashion, such as Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Philip Lim, and Derek Lam. One fashion designer that is making that headway is South Korean designer, Son Jung Wan. The label is already one of Korea's most successful ones. I absolutely loved her Fall/Winter collection at NYFW. The collection was filled with tailored, feminine pieces of ivory, gold metallics, and rich textures.

The goal of Asia Fashion Collection was to further develop the fashion industry across Asia. The show showcased emerging Asian talents with six designers across Asia (from Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea). Each designer's collection was different from the other, but I felt all were on trend and admired each of the pieces. Here are a few of my favorite ones.
