Layers at NYFW

I just wrapped up my week at New York Fashion Week! It was an amazing, yet exhausting experience, especially since this was my first full-on NYFW. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen some tidbits of my days at NYFW. I found myself inspired by all of the beautiful pieces on the runway and the energy that filled Lincoln Center.

With the freezing east coast winter weather currently, layering was essential! Fur, tweed, and chambray shirt--my upper body was definitely warm! Thank goodness since it started snowing at the end of the day.

RUFFIAN

The designers, Brian Wolk and Claude Morais, described the Ruffian Fall/Winter 2014 collection as "monastic opulence" with the pieces being of religious silhouettes in rich fabrics. I appreciate the unconventional mix of religion and fashion. Some pieces entailed high collars and long, flowing dresses, but my favorite pieces as pictured above are the ones that I can see myself wearing on more of a daily basis.

GEORGINE

I love the classic glamour that the Georgine Fall/Winter 2014 collection represented. The collection entailed flowy overcoats; fitted dresses and separates; and leather, cashmere and chiffon details. These are several of my favorite pieces from the collection.
